Maniraman Siddharth, was the subject of a battle at the IPL auction between Lucknow Supergiants and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The former ended up winning the auction for the spinner with an eye-watering bid of 2.4 crores.
Part of Set 10 i.e. the Uncapped Players, M. Siddharth, is a relatively unknown name despite being 25 years old and having made his T20 and First Class debut in 2019. Let’s take a look at what he brings to the Lucknow Supergiants.
Bowling Style: Slow Left Arm Orthodox
Batting Style: Right Hand Bat
Age: 25
Teams: Tamil Nadu, Chepauk Super Gillies, Lyca Kovai Kings, Lucknow Supergiants (IPL 2024) Delhi Capitals (2021), Kolkata Knight Riders (2020)
Here’s his T20 bowling record:
Matches | Balls | Runs | Wickets | Best Figures | Average | Economy | S/R |
7 | 150 | 117 | 18 | 4/16 | 6.5 | 4.68 | 8.3 |
Although he is yet to make his debut, Lucknow will be his third IPL team. M. Siddharth was initially bought by Delhi Capitals in 2020 but he remained on the bench. In the following year, Kolkata Knight Riders roped him in but injury prevented him from making his debut, eventually being replaced by Kulwant Khejrolia in the squad. With Lucknow shelling out the big bucks in the 2024 IPL Auction for his services, he’ll be hoping to make his delayed IPL debut come March 2024.
