The rivalry between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns last year was one of the fan favorites. It was the top babyface against the top heel of the company. When the rivalry was being built for the two men at WrestleMania XL, it even involved multiple big names like The Rock and John Cena.
During the recent episode of SmackDown, Paul Heyman seems to have put out a message of potentially reviving that rivalry. He made it very clear to Cody Rhodes that Roman Reigns wants the WWE Championship back. He even announced that Roman Reigns will be entering the Royal Rumble match in February.
The Wiseman seems to be very confident regarding his Tribal Chief. Reigns recently defeated Solo Sikoa on Raw Debut on Netflix to regain his Ula Fala. He seems to be coming back to the top of his game again with these victories. Roman Reigns has finished in the last two in the Rumble match on more than one occasion. However, he has only won the Rumble match once. Him winning the match will make him join a list of multiple superstars who have won the Rumble twice.
Heyman also mentioned to Rhodes that he has earned the respect of Reigns. Roman Reigns being announced makes him the third superstar after CM Punk and John Cena to confirm his spot in the Rumble match. If Reigns and Cody both emerge victorious during the rumble night, they will be main eventing WrestleMania for a third consecutive year together. No two superstars have ever done that in pro wrestling.
Roman Reigns reflects on getting the Ula Fala back
Roman Reigns recently defeated Solo Sikoa in the Tribal Combat. This match took place during Raw’s debut episode on Netflix. Reigns took back his Ulu Fala after Solo took it during his absence post-WrestleMania. Following the victory, Reigns was given the Ulu Fala back again by the Final Boss, The Rock.
Many fans expected there to be some heat between the two men. However, all that was completely wrong. The Rock took the red necklace from Paul Heyman to present it himself to Reigns. After the show, during the post-show of Raw’s premiere on Netflix, Reigns had some words to share regarding the event.
It’s all about this representation; that’s all I really want to do: represent my family and just showcase our talents and just how good we are at this craft, and tonight was just another opportunity to go out there and do that, and who better to do that with than Dwayne?
Reigns walked out of Raw with his head held high. He was very proud to not only defeat Solo Sikoa but also represent his family at such a high level. With this victory, he will continue to be the Head of the Table and carry his legacy forward. With the Royal Rumble PLE coming up, his sights will be set on WrestleMania.
