Hall of Famer proposes hefty FINE in WWE for using banned moves after Kevin Owens hospitalized Randy Orton

WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry is known for his impressive career both inside and outside the ring. He was even the world’s strongest man at one point in time. Henry has never been shy about sharing his opinions on how to improve professional wrestling. The former World Champion once again has a suggestion on a banned WWE move.

Kevin Owens used the banned Piledriver move on Randy Orton during an episode of WWE SmackDown. As part of the Busted Open Podcast team alongside co-hosts Dave LaGreca and Billy Ray, he discussed his thoughts on the usage Piledriver move. He suggested ways WWE could protect it from becoming overused, like a DDT and Superrkick. Henry proposed a $50,000 fine for any wrestler who uses the move.

“I think that they should say, if you do it, it’s gonna be a $50,000 fine…”When I was a kid, the DDT was the thing because… You remember playing wrestling?…I don’t wanna see the Piledriver become, again, like a DDT or a Superkick…” I wanna see somebody say, ‘Hey, I got 50 grand burning a hole in my pocket. (I’m gonna) Piledrive your a**’.”

The rivalry between Owens and Orton had reached such a boiling point with the Prizefighter going to extreme lengths to hurt the veteran. The use of a banned move like the Piledriver came across as a bold statement. It showed the fans that Owens was not stopping from breaking any rules just to hurt his opponent.

Henry’s idea would raise the stakes for any wrestler willing to take on the fine. Creating such a financial penalty for using the move could make it more interesting in the future. This would also help preserve the relevance of the move. The Piledriver could maintain its status as a fearful and career-ending move. The WWE Universe has even agreed with the legend on this opinion.

Mark Henry blames injured superstar for not saving Randy Orton

Randy Orton might be counting the last days of his wrestling career due to Kevin Owens. The Prizefighter ended up delivering a banned move to the Third Generation Superstar. Randy Orton is currently in the hospital recovering from a very serious back and neck injury that was caused to him by Owens on SmackDown.

However, according to Mark Henry, all this could have been avoided if former WWE Superstar Jason Jordan, who was ringside, had stepped in. Henry believes Jason Jordan, who retired from wrestling in 2018 due to multiple injuries, could have prevented it using his past wrestling experience. One of Jordan’s moves was the sleeper hold, which would have been very effective in stopping Owens.

Jason Jordan, I know you’re injured, but you can still put a sleeper on Kevin Owens, but you could’ve saved Randy Orton. I mean, all those people in the ring, they let that happen.

Randy Orton is currently out of action and is not expected to return anytime soon. It will be interesting to see what Kevin Owens will do on SmackDown while his rival is away recovering. This feud is expected to go on for a long time and become more intense after The Viper returns.
