Gunther’s next opponent after viciously choking out Pat McAfee revealed

After losing the World Heavyweight Title to Jey Uso at WrestleMania 41, fans were confused about Gunther’s future. He became engaged in a heated feud with the Raw commentators Pat McAfee and Michael Cole after they supported Uso. Their rivalry and the match between him and McAfee were well-received by the fans. Now, after choking him out at Backlash, The Ring General’s next opponent has been revealed.

On the latest episode of Raw, the new World Heavyweight Champion came out to address the audience. However, he was interrupted by Gunther. The Ring General announced that the winner of the World Title match between Uso and Logan Paul would face him on the June 9th episode of Raw. He sent a warning to The Yeet Master that if they met in the ring again, he would show him his true place.

The Main Event accepted his challenge and said he would leave as the World Heavyweight Champion after beating him. Uso defeated The Ring General at the Show of Shows after enduring a lot of pain, both mentally and physically. Gunther made the rivalry a personal one. He brutally attacked his brother, Jimmy Uso, and left his bloody body for Jey to see.

Uso took his revenge for his brother at WrestleMania 41. He not only defeated the Imperium leader but also choked him out. This was his first victory over Gunther after suffering three losses. However, before The Yeet Master can focus on his archrival, he should worry about Paul, who has vowed to become the face of the company by winning the World Heavyweight Title from him.

Pat McAfee believes Gunther could become the greatest WWE wrestler of all time

McAfee wrestled just his sixth singles match of his wrestling career, and it was a brutal one. He was defeated by Gunther, and after the match, he even admitted on social media that his chest was burning. Despite the bad blood between them, the Raw commentator believes that The Ring General could become the greatest wrestler of all time.

While speaking on his show, The Pat McAfee Show, he discussed the physical toll of the encounter. McAfee felt that he proved he wasn’t afraid of Gunther’s chops, and that earned him the Ring General’s respect. Talking about the Imperium leader, the Raw commentator believed that he might be in the GOAT conversation when it’s all said and done.

“To Gunther’s credit, him giving me the head nod at the end, I think he acknowledged what happened in there. I think he was waiting until it was on camera to be able to do that. If you saw him talking to the ref, I think he was asking the ref, ‘I would like people to see this and know this.”

McAfee further added that it was a privilege to work with Gunther. He apologized to his commentary partner, Cole, for failing to win the match. His prediction about The Ring General might come true, given that Gunther has already become the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion and a World Heavyweight Champion.
