Many injured wrestlers have started to make their return in WWE in the past few weeks. The latest addition to this list is Dakota Kai. The former two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team champion returned on the latest Raw episode. She suddenly surprised her teammates Iyo Sky and Kairi Sane while they were being interviewed backstage.
Sky and Sane were just about to make their entrance before Kai appeared from behind and gave them a hug. When asked by Kathy Kelly about her return, she had multiple things to say.
Kai said that she was happy to be back but was pissed at Pure Fusion Collective. The heel faction cost her three months of her career by injuring her. Kai further credited her friends and said that they were always here to pick her up. The main message she gave out before going was that she wanted to remind everyone what Damage CTRL is capable of.
The other members of Damage CTRL have definitely felt her absence in their corners. The three women seem more confident than ever at this point in time. They later went on to the ring to face PFC and even made their entrance together as a faction. The group seemed well and ready to fight their opponents.
During the match, the heel faction spent the majority of the match working over Sane. However, the match would take multiple turns, especially when Iyo Sky delivered a moonsault to shift the momentum to her team’s side. In an energetic tag match, Damage CTRL defeated Pure Fusion Collective in the end and celebrated the victory.
WWE veteran mocks Dakota Kai’s return
Former WWE head writer Vince Russo has been known for his fun personality. During his review of this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, he spoke about one specific angle where Damage CTRL reunited. Dakota Kai returned to action after three months away.
During this week’s Legion of RAW, Russo sarcastically said that Kai’s return was a huge moment on Raw. The veteran even exaggerated his excitement due to the lack of significance of the return. He said the return could have been done in a much better way.
Kai helped her team get revenge on Pure Fusion Collective on her comeback. The return of Kai has definitely made her teammate Iyo Sky more confident. This will be very helpful considering she will be competing against Liv Morgan soon for the Women’s World Title.
