The Undertaker Makes Honest Admission About Joining WWE’s Creative Team in the Future

WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker has always been one of the cornerstones of the company. Even after his retirement, he has remained involved in developmental shows and continues to share stories about his legendary career on podcasts. Now, the Phenom has shown interest in joining WWE’s creative team to help the young talent.

While talking to SHAK Wrestling on his podcast, Taker admitted that mentoring young talents on the show ‘LFG’ had sparked the creativity he always had in him. However, he also stated that there were hurdles to overcome before WWE, and he settled on a direction. The seven-time world champion insists it’s a big undertaking, one he’s unsure about managing between personal responsibilities and other commitments.

Taker was strong in his stance, stating that if he couldn’t commit to it fully, he didn’t want to do it. The Hall of Famer stated that he would rather be an asset than just a distraction. The last time he appeared in WWE was at the Hall of Fame ceremony ahead of WrestleMania. Taker inducted his wife, Michelle McCool, into the Hall of Fame for her career in the Stamford-based company.

“To answer your question, yes. Doing ‘LFG’ has sparked that creativity that I’ve put on the shelf since retiring. It’s a really large ask to be part of the creative team. If I can’t commit to it 100%, then I don’t want to do it. I don’t want to be more of a distraction than an asset.”

Talking more about LFG, the Deadman will continue to be a mentor. However, this time, he will be accompanied by his wife, McCool. The first season of the show was a huge hit, and it premiered on A&E on February 16, 2025, featuring rising stars competing in a tournament to win an NXT contract. Established WWE stars like CM Punk and Gunther also made appearances on the show.

WWE Hall of Famer Jake Roberts Knew The Undertaker Was Special After Their First Meeting

To many wrestling fans, The Undertaker is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. But even before he became a legend, one Hall of Famer knew he was going to be special. Jake Roberts saw something unique in him from the very beginning. After their first meeting, Roberts believed he had the look, presence, and attitude to become a top star.

Speaking on an episode of The Undertaker’s podcast, Six Feet Under, Roberts shared his first impression of The Deadman. He said that from their very first meeting, he could tell Taker had something special. That’s why he chose to work with him. Roberts also felt a strong urge to mentor The Undertaker during his early days in WWE.

“From the get-go, Mark had something special, and I think that’s one of the reasons that I hooked up with him. I knew that if he didn’t do this character perfectly, one little misstep, and he kills his gimmick.”

The Snake also said that Taker needed to be very careful while building his character. He explained that one small mistake could have ruined The Deadman persona—something The Undertaker agreed with. Interestingly, Roberts also shared that he felt Taker ruined his character during the time he took on the American Badass gimmick.
