The race for the Orange Cap is heating up as the tournament nears its climax. Gujarat Titans’ Sai Sudarshan currently holds the cap following his fantastic performance against DC, where he scored 108 runs in just 61 balls with a strike rate of 177. The talented left-hander opened up about his amazing form this season in the Indian Premier League.
In the post-match interview, Sudarshan stated that it felt great to help his team win important matches. The southpaw reflected on his changed mindset and said that it was a crucial factor that contributed to their dominant victory over Delhi. He admitted that in previous games, he didn’t show enough maturity and got out early, but this time he chose the right matchups and achieved success.
The GT opener further added that he had started to believe in himself more to take the game deeper. Although he said that not much had changed in his batting style, he was just freer and more expressive throughout the innings. Sudarshan also appreciated his partnership with Shubman Gill. The dynamic duo has racked up 839 runs this season with an average of 77.
Speaking about the match itself, DC set a target of 200, thanks to a century from KL Rahul. He put on a show with his batting, scoring 112 runs in just 65 balls with a strike rate of 172. However, both Sudarshan’s and Gill’s innings overshadowed his century. The GT openers took the DC bowlers to the cleaners, scoring 108 and 93 runs, respectively, and took their team to the top of the table.
