“Feels like a baseball game”- Fans react as SRH continues their red-hot form from last season to defeat Rajasthan Royals in 2nd match of IPL 2025

Sunrisers Hyderabad showed cricket fans why they are a force to be reckoned with, defeating Rajasthan Royals by 44 runs. The win was powered by Ishan Kishan’s century and Travis Head’s 67-run knock. Fans were surprised when RR chose to bowl first after winning the toss. SRH’s start was exactly what everyone expected—pure chaos from Abhishek Sharma and Head.

After Abhishek’s early departure, Kishan and Head steadied the innings and accelerated at the right time. From there, it was the Orange Army show, as Pat Cummins’ men continued their tradition of scoring big. Kishan remained unbeaten on 106, while Nitish Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen added valuable runs. At one point, SRH seemed on track to reach the elusive 300-run mark, but Klaasen’s crucial wicket helped RR restrict them to 286 runs.

Rajasthan Royals’ innings didn’t start well, as Simerjeet Singh dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag early. Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel revived the run chase by scoring 66 and 70 runs, respectively. Shubham Dubey and Shimron Hetmyer also contributed, but it wasn’t enough. The Royals managed to score 242 runs, falling short by 44 runs.

Jofra Archer set an unwanted record, becoming the bowler to concede the most runs in a four-over spell, giving away 76 runs. Ishan won the Man of the Match award for his heroic century on his Sunrisers Hyderabad debut. The Orange Army secured their first win and earned 2 points.

Judging by the fans’ reactions, many seemed to know the result beforehand. SRH carried over their form from last season and clearly outclassed their opponents. While some fans enjoyed the high-scoring battle, others felt T20 cricket was losing its charm.

One fan was impressed by SRH’s batting power, joking that it felt more like a baseball game than cricket. Another praised the Royals for putting up a good fight and reducing the run margin. However, some fans blamed Sanju Samson’s slow batting for the team’s defeat. Here are some of the top fan reactions:

One user, though impressed with SRH’s batting, felt their bowling was subpar and wished Ishan and Shami a speedy recovery. Another user claimed that Cummins’ team was the best in the IPL. Overall, fans enjoyed the match and found the result predictable.
