The release of Baron Corbin earlier this month left the WWE universe in shock. Fans did not expect him to part ways with the company so soon. He had a very unique connection with the fans, where he played every role brilliantly. Be it being hated as Constable Corbin or the Lone Wolf.
Apart from the fans, SmackDown Superstar Carmelo Hayes was also very upset. Hayes shared an emotional message for Corbin during an interview with Metro UK’s Alistair McGeorge.
“Baron (Corbin) was one of the people that actually took a liking to me and took me under his wing. He did so much for me; he helped me so much; he gave me so much advice. I’m forever indebted to Baron Corbin—super talented, and I hate to see him go.”

Both men have had chemistry inside and outside the squared circle. They clashed with each other several times in NXT and even faced each other in the first round of the 2024 King of the Ring tournament. It seems like both men had a lot of respect for each other. Hayes said that Corbin’s release really hurt him a lot since they both are very tight friends. He further added that everyone in the locker room loved Corbin.
Corbin was widely known for his heelish character work on the main roster but was sent to NXT to try something new. Many fans were awaiting his big run on the main roster once again. His release has definitely come as a disappointment for his supporters. His contribution to the company has been essential, especially when it came to putting over young talent. He even gave WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle his farewell match at Wrestlemania 35.
The former United States Champion was never able to achieve the level he was expected to reach. Since failing his money in the bank cash in on Jinder Mahal, he never got close to any of the major titles of the company. Despite his run as United States champion, the fans always believed that he was destined for greatness. All that took a turn for the worse due to backstage problems that he faced.

The WWE Universe suffered multiple surprises last week, one of which included the release of Baron Corbin. However, Corbin has been receiving an outpour of support from friends and fans. Baron has taken to social media to send heartwarming messages to his fans.

It definitely has impacted the wrestler heavily, considering he used to get a lot of heat from the fans. His career at WWE could definitely have been better. Despite that, he had an amazing run working with legends like Kurt Angle and even John Cena. His rivalries also made the opposite wrestler an automatic babyface wrestler.
It will be interesting to see where he will go next. He is currently not under the influence of the non-compete clause, which means we could see him anywhere anytime soon. There seems to be a long career ahead of him, and he could probably go to AEW or any other promotion.
