Charlotte Flair had been out of action for over a year. The wrestling fans had been awaiting her return ever since her injury. Flair, who is a 14-time Women’s Champion, is one of the most iconic figures in the women’s division as well. She recently made her long-awaited return in the Royal Rumble match.
When she entered the Rumble match, not many fans expected her to win it. Considering she had just returned after injury, it seemed very unlikely. However, things took a turn that surprised the whole WWE Universe.
Charlotte Flair entered the 27th spot in the Royal Rumble match. This was already a big advantage for her. The Queen eliminated NXT’s Roxanne Perez in the end to win the whole thing. With this, she became the first-ever 2-time Women’s Royal Rumble winner and also has a championship match waiting for her at WrestleMania.
Which champion she will pick is going to be very interesting to see. While most fans would want her to face Rhea Ripley, anything can happen. The WWE might want to protect Rhea Ripley and perhaps make Tiffany Stratton drop the title to Flair at Mania. A World Championship victory would also take her one step closer to her father’s record of 16 championships.
Charlotte Flair gets emotional on Royal Rumble win
Charlotte Flair, who mostly plays a wicked heel character in the ring, seems to be a very emotional person outside the ring. While speaking with the press after the event, Flair got emotional.
When she was asked about how she felt about winning the rumble and recovering, she shared a lot of things. She mentioned and thanked the fans for constantly checking up on her while she was away. She mentioned that this was the longest period she had been away from the ring. Flair looks to be well-rested and ready to be in action once again.
Her victory at the Royal Rumble is not only a personal milestone but is also good for the company. With The Queen already having punched her ticket to WrestleMania, the fans don’t know yet which champion she will choose. This will make things more interesting on Raw and SmackDown. Also, judging from the whole interview, it seems that Flair is going to be returning as a babyface.
