Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have been two very widely spoken-about wrestlers lately. It all started when they betrayed Big E during the New Day 10-year celebration. Before that incident, they were one of the most loved wrestlers in the wrestling community. Their actions towards their former tag team partner have now affected them professionally. It seems like everybody has lost respect for them, and now they are even unable to perform because of it.
During the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, Woods and Kingston were scheduled to appear on the show. They were even advertised to be a part of Raw that night. However, their absence from the show on Monday raised a lot of questions. It was later addressed by Kofi Kingston on his X account. He revealed the reason why he and Woods did not show up.
According to Kofi, it was Rey Mysterio who denied them from changing into wrestling gear. He did not allow them a place to change their clothes. Hence, frustrated with this, Kingston and Woods decided to go back home. It seems like they have gone from one of the most liked personalities to one of the most hated. Even someone like Rey Mysterio, who has been in the business for a long period of time, does not have any respect left for them. Mysterio is seen as a locker room leader by all the Raw superstars. Multiple superstars and fans feel that what he did was correct.
This might build up to an angle for the future. Mysterio has been very excellent in the ring irrespective of his age. A clash between him and someone like Kofi Kingston would bring in a lot of ratings. The New Day members being heel characters now will make the rivalry more interesting.
Fans support Rey Mysterio for shutting down Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods
It seems like Rey Mysterio is not the only one who is upset with Kingston and Woods. The events that took place on the 10th anniversary of the New Day are not forgotten by the fans. When the faction was together, they were loved by everybody. The involvement of Big E completed the whole dynamic. However, the disrespect that was shown towards him has turned the WWE Universe against Woods and Kingston.
Even when Kingston complained about Rey’s actions on X, the fans supported Mysterio. They even further targeted Kofi by saying that nobody wanted him in the building anyway. They have even started to demand an apology from the two superstars.
It seems like the WWE Universe is really mad at these two superstars. At one point in time, they were the most loved tag team. Even when Big E went out due to injury, the fans cheered on Woods and Kingston. It was the bond that the three superstars shared that kept the WWE Universe connected. Since it has been disrespected, the fans have spoken out, and it has been very clear what they feel.
