WWE trying to bring Sting from his legends AEW contract to induct 10-time champion into the Hall of Fame: Reports

The WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2025 boasts an impressive group of wrestling legends. Among them is Triple H, who will be honored for his standout solo career, having already been inducted as part of DX. Joining him are Michelle McCool and Lex Luger. Notably, Luger has expressed his desire for retired AEW star Sting to induct him into the Hall of Fame.

Reports from Fightful reveal that WWE has reached out to Sting to induct Luger at the ceremony, held the night before WrestleMania. Sting, 66, and those close to him have reportedly told WWE that he is Luger’s top choice for the role. However, Sting has indicated he may not be able to attend due to his current contract with AEW, which could complicate matters.

This situation highlights potential tension between WWE and AEW. Some WWE fans hope AEW’s Tony Khan will allow Sting to participate in the Hall of Fame event. Others, however, support AEW’s decision to refuse, given Sting’s commitments. Earlier this year, Sting confirmed he signed a multi-year deal with AEW and plans to make occasional appearances for the company.

The debate over Sting’s involvement underscores the ongoing rivalry between WWE and AEW. While fans are divided, the focus remains on celebrating the achievements of the 2025 Hall of Fame class. Whether Sting can attend or not, the ceremony promises to honor some of wrestling’s most iconic figures.

Who else could induct Lex Luger into Hall of Fame?

The Jacksonville-based company has yet to decide if Sting will attend the ceremony. If he is unavailable, other candidates may step in to honor Lex Luger’s legacy. Bret Hart significantly contributed to Luger’s success in WWE, with Luger acknowledging that Hart often protected him during his career.

Another potential choice is Diamond Dallas Page. The 66-year-old wrestling legend has expressed interest in sharing the stage with Luger. If given the chance, the former WCW Champion could induct his longtime friend into the Hall of Fame.

During a conversation with Eric Bischoff, Luger mentioned he would love to have both Sting and Diamond Dallas Page by his side at the event. He also shared his preference for speaking freely rather than following a script. The Hall of Fame ceremony is scheduled for April 18th at the BleauLiveTheater in Fontainebleau Las Vegas.
