“Get the f*ck to the back!” Former Universal Champion recalls ‘FURIOUS’ Stephanie McMahon lashing out after he attacked Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon has been beaten up multiple times on WWE TV during his time with the company. Though the former WWE Chairman wasn’t an easy target, only a few stars have ever attacked him. One of them is Kevin Owens. In September 2017, Owens famously took down the billionaire during a live broadcast.

Recalling the incident on Chris Van Vliet’s podcast, Owens shared details. The former Universal Champion revealed Vince kept trash-talking him during the segment. McMahon did this intentionally to push Owens into hitting him with a stiff headbutt.

Owens delivered, striking Vince so hard that he bled. He then followed up with a superkick and a frog splash. McMahon was left struggling to breathe, with officials rushing to check on him. As Owens walked away, he looked back, visibly regretting his actions.

“I’m just looking at the ring, and I hear kind of like a rumble in the crowd. I go to turn, and as I turn Stephanie’s right there in my face. She looks furious. She just looks at me and goes, ‘Get the f*ck to the back!’ And I go, okay, and I turn around.”

Just then, Stephanie McMahon confronted him, furious. Owens said she yelled, “Get the f**k to the back,” forcing him to obey. However, he also recalled her supportive side. During his NXT days, Stephanie McMahon often cheered him and others like Sami Zayn, Finn Balor, and Becky Lynch.

Kevin Owens calls WrestleMania match with Steve Austin his greatest achievement

Kevin Owens has been a pro wrestler for 25 years. That’s over two decades in the ring. As a future WWE Hall of Famer, he’s won every major honor. Yet, his proudest moment was sharing the ring with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin at WrestleMania 38.

Owens told Chris Van Vliet that night was the wildest of his career. Even in defeat, it felt like his biggest moral victory. Austin had always supported him and even passed down his famous Stone Cold Stunner. This meant the world to Owens.

The Quebec native shared that Austin once advised him to improve his promos. This happened when Owens was rising through the indie scene. Austin’s guidance helped shape his career. Owens also revealed neither of them knew their WrestleMania match plans until show day.

“I’m very lucky to have been a part of it. To this day, it’s the craziest thing that I’ll ever have done in my career, and I don’t think anything will top it.”
