This year’s Royal Rumble match was one of the most stacked matches in the history of the event. Almost all of the big names were part of the match apart from a few. There were names like John Cena, Roman Reigns, CM Punk, and even Seth Rollins in the match. The fans were expecting one of these men to win the match and go on to WrestleMania.
However, during the event, something totally different happened. Reigns and Rollins were eliminated by Punk while Punk was eliminated by Logan Paul immediately. This left fans with the hope that John Cena would win the Royal Rumble. Considering it was his last Rumble match, they all wanted to see him go on to main event WrestleMania. However, things did not go as they hoped.
It was Main Event Jey Uso who ended up winning the Royal Rumble after eliminating John Cena. There seems to be a wave of mixed emotions among the WWE Universe. While Jey is one of the most over superstars in the company, fans did not want to see him win the Rumble. Him eliminating John Cena in the ending has made things even worse.
Uso is now being criticized for just knowing two moves, “superkick and spear.”. He has also faced Gunther on multiple occasions, and the fans don’t want to see a rematch. They feel that he should not be in the main event of WrestleMania. This might be bad for Jey, as he might lose a majority of the support he has gained throughout the years.
Fans unhappy after Jey Uso eliminates John Cena at Royal Rumble
The WWE Universe has mixed emotions regarding Jey’s victory. While some members have mentioned that he deserves it, others are totally against it. The nostalgia-driven fan base of John Cena has also criticized him in huge amounts.
The fans have become upset to such a level that they are asking Vince McMahon to come back. They have even targeted Triple H and asked him to resign.
While things can change and Jey facing Cody Rhodes can also be a possibility, him going after Gunther is very likely. The fans who are mostly not in favor of this decision will definitely be reacting differently towards him. There will be a clearer answer about how the fans feel on tomorrow’s episode of Monday Night Raw.
