Drew McIntyre spotted with an eye patch following legit ‘glassy’ eye injury on SmackDown

The intense feud between Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest escalated dramatically on last week’s SmackDown. Their parking lot brawl ended with Priest slamming McIntyre onto a car windshield with a South of Heaven Chokeslam. After the show, McIntyre shared that real glass had entered his eye. Reports later confirmed he suffered a legitimate eye injury, and he was recently seen wearing an eye patch.

In a WWE UK clip, McIntyre showed off his eye patch while promoting a special Rangers championship. Despite his injury, he took a jab at his rival, CM Punk. He proudly claimed Rangers as the most successful football club ever. McIntyre seemed unbothered by his injury, even boasting about signing the title while wearing the patch.

While the injury is real, McIntyre’s eye patch might also be part of selling Priest’s attack. After weeks of ambushing Priest, McIntyre finally faced retaliation on SmackDown. Priest, a former Judgment Day member, turned the tables and made a strong statement against McIntyre.

Their rivalry began at this year’s Royal Rumble when Priest eliminated McIntyre. A month later, Priest dashed McIntyre’s WrestleMania hopes again in the Elimination Chamber. In revenge, McIntyre attacked Priest, causing his elimination and fueling their ongoing conflict.

The history between Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest

At WrestleMania XL, Drew McIntyre achieved his dream of becoming World Heavyweight Champion in front of a live crowd. With his family watching, he celebrated his victory for just five minutes. However, the Scottish Warrior made a critical error by taunting CM Punk during his moment of triumph.

Punk quickly struck back, attacking McIntyre and knocking him out with his arm brace. This gave Damian Priest, the Money in the Bank holder, the chance to cash in his contract. In an instant, McIntyre’s celebration turned into humiliation on wrestling’s biggest stage. While his feud with Punk was a key factor, Priest also ruined McIntyre’s moment.

To make matters worse, McIntyre lost his rematch against Priest at Clash at the Castle in Scotland. This means the former WWE Champion has now lost both major matches against Priest. His inability to reclaim the title has left fans questioning his future.

Now, all eyes are on WrestleMania 41 to see if McIntyre can finally defeat Priest. A win would redeem his recent losses, but another defeat could further damage his legacy. The stakes couldn’t be higher for the Scottish Warrior.
