At WrestleMania 38, Steve Austin ousted Kevin Owens in an impromptu match that was his first since 2003. Stone Cold hasn’t stepped back inside the squared circle to wrestle since that point, but the ship hasn’t sailed. As per Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, The Texas Rattlesnake told several people around WrestleMania 41 weekend in Las Vegas that he might have one more match left in him.
A few months ago, Austin underwent a total knee replacement. It seems like the 60-year-old wrestling great is feeling at his best again. This report added that it wasn’t known how the WWE Hall of Famer was feeling after WrestleMania 41, but it certainly sounds like he was interested in one more match during his WrestleMania visit. Fightful also noted several talents had approached management in recent years about facing Steve Austin.
As expected, CM Punk was one particular name that’s been discussed internally. WWE had approached The Bionic Redneck for potential roles at WrestleManias in 2023 and 2024, but the former six-time world champion reportedly turned down the overtures made to him on both occasions. Austin finally made an appearance at WrestleMania 41, which was his first on WWE television since beating Owens in Arlington at AT&T Stadium.
However, what happened in Vegas on WrestleMania Sunday was nothing short of a misadventure for the WWE legend. He initially faced difficulty in getting his ATV on the wide ramp to drive up to the main entrance stage. That wasn’t even comparable to what was about to unfold in a matter of minutes. Just when Austin reached the ringside area and was driving his ATV around the ring, he inadvertently crashed it into the barricade.
Stone Cold Steve Austin rejected Logan Paul’s $1 million offer at WrestleMania 41
In Steve Austin’s catastrophically eventful outing at WrestleMania this year, things could’ve gone even more haywire if he’d agreed to Logan Paul‘s offer. The Maverick offered him to dress up as a PRIME bottle for $1 million. However, the Baddest S.O.B. on the Planet turned it down, thinking it wasn’t a great fit for someone like him.
At one point, there were rumors of Austin coming to aid Cody Rhodes on the same night he was supposed to face John Cena. Cena had gone rogue thanks to The Rock. Everyone expected The Final Boss would interfere in the Rhodes vs. Cena finish. They thought Austin would oppose his career-long rival. But in reality, the Brahma Bull didn’t even show up to the event.
“I just thought that was kind of personal business, but since it’s out there, yeah, I turned it down. It’s just, that’s not my gimmick… It wasn’t a great fit for Steve Austin.”

The Rattlesnake was earmarked to stun The Rock during night two’s main event, featuring Rhodes and Roman Reigns. They were fighting for the Undisputed WWE title at WrestleMania XL. Since Austin didn’t agree to it, The Undertaker had to fill the void. He ended up chokeslamming Rocky. That moment had Lincoln Financial Field shaking to its core.
