John Cena Sr. mentioned that he would want to see his son against somebody who is at the peak of their career. He mentioned that he would want to see his son face Gunther. The Ring General has been one of the best superstars on Monday Night Raw. Cena’s father also added that he would want to see his son face him more than Cody Rhodes.
I think that right now, and nothing against Cody Rhodes, I have nothing but good words for Cody. I just think that right now GUNTHER is at the peak of his career; he’s the best of the best. GUNTHER vs. Cena would be THE match, and I think that’s the person he should face.
During his appearance on Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, he mentioned a lot of things. Cena Sr. mentioned that he would love to see his son go one-on-one with Cody Rhodes but not right now. Gunther is somebody who is at the peak of their career and would make an amazing opponent for his son. John Cena only has one year left in his in-ring career. A storyline between these two men would be a perfect fit. Gunther is currently the top heel World Champion. Meanwhile, John is aiming to win his 17th World title.
This might be some sort of hint towards John’s match at WrestleMania. He has announced himself for the Royal Rumble match and is the favorite to win it. The WWE Universe will definitely be interested in the clash of these two powerful superstars down the line.
