“They Weren’t Like Printing Money” Cody Rhodes Makes Bold Claim About Popular New Japan Pro Wrestling Faction Bullet Club

Bullet Club was founded in 2013 when Finn Balor aligned with several wrestlers in NJPW. He teamed with Tama Tonga, Bad Luck Fale, and Karl Anderson to form the group. Over the years, the faction has seen many different leaders throughout its evolution. The Balor era paved the way for AJ Styles, followed by Kenny Omega‘s leadership. Cody Rhodes may have been considered a leader during Omega’s time as the Club’s ace.

While talking with Damian Priest on his show, The American Nightmare discussed his previous faction, Bullet Club. He claimed that when Balor and Styles led the group, the show was entertaining. However, they weren’t making much money during that period. Rhodes said that although the company started making money later, it was less cool than before.

The former WWE Champion called his version of the Bullet Club a “commercial” one. The notorious faction remains active in NJPW, with David Finlay leading the group. Rhodes then joined AEW before returning to WWE in 2022. Since then, he has been one of the company’s top stars.

You know what I’ve come to realize about the Bullet Club? I talk with AJ and Finn about this all the time. Bullet Club was so cool when Finn Balor was doing it. So cool when AJ Styles was doing it, but they weren’t like printing money. It wasn’t the money making enterprise. I joined and it did start making money. However, it was the least cool thing ever.

Talking about his recent run, The American Nightmare is chasing the World Title. He and Jey Uso defeated John Cena and Logan Paul at Money in the Bank PLE. They won thanks to Ron Killings’ interference in the match. On the upcoming SmackDown episode, he will face Priest, Andrade, and Shinsuke Nakamura. This will be part of the King of the Ring tournament.

Cody Rhodes Says He & Seth Rollins Produced a WWE Event After Travel Issues

Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins are two of WWE’s biggest stars. Both wrestlers had to step up and take control of a show when the usual producers were unable to attend due to a snowstorm. The American Nightmare later shared more details about this experience during a conversation with Priest on his show.

The former Legacy member explained that they had to travel to El Paso via Nebraska during a fierce sandstorm. He mentioned that flying by private jet was their only option, and fortunately, WWE picked up the tab. Rhodes shared an amusing story about how he chose to bring along other superstars on the private jet rather than the producers.

“We needed to get to El Paso from Nebraska in the middle of a snowstorm, and the only way we could do it was flying private. Me and Seth, we were producers and it was a show that had a commission, so we actually had to do work. The best is I didn’t put the producers on the flight. I put the boys on the flight.”

He praised The Visionary, saying he did an incredible job and predicted that handling business at the top level was definitely in Rollins’ future. Currently, in a heel run, he recently captured the MITB ladder match victory. The briefcase grants him the opportunity to challenge for any championship, anytime and anywhere.
