John Cena has kicked off his farewell tour in WWE. This is going to be his last run in the company before he retires. He has been a very loyal servant of the company and has made a name for himself and the company around the globe. Since it is his last year being an active wrestler, there are multiple wrestlers who want to take him on.
One of these wrestlers is Drew McIntyre. The former WWE Champion recently made an appearance on the babyfaces podcast. He mentioned a lot of things about the Franchise Player. With the Royal Rumble PLE coming up, he mentioned that John should hope that he does not cross paths with Drew during the match.
Let’s just hope he doesn’t end up in the ring with me in the Rumble because the last person who got in my way at the Rumble last year and was aiming to main event WrestleMania was CM Punk, and I tore his tricep off the bone. I’ll maybe ask Cena to pick the muscle or pick the bone because I’m tearing it or breaking it.
It seems like Drew has made his intentions very clear. Despite this being John’s final run in the company, he looks forward to cutting it short. He even gave the example of CM Punk, who was injured by Drew during the rivalry. Punk missed out on his first WrestleMania following his return to the company because of McIntyre injuring him.
It seems like McIntyre wants to make sure that John Cena does not make it to his last WrestleMania. He even mentioned during the interview that he wants to face John one-on-one. A rivalry between these two men will be much anticipated by the audience. John, who is on his way out, is one of the top babyface wrestlers of all time. Drew, who is currently at the peak of his career as a heel, would definitely want to put an end to John’s legendary career. This might be a hint towards these two men coming face to face on 1 February 2025.
Drew McIntyre takes a social media jab at rival Sami Zayn
The rivalry between Drew McIntyre and Sami Zayn has been on and off for multiple years now. The two men are very familiar with each other inside the ring. Despite Sami facing the loss on all occasions, the rivalry between the two men seems to not come to an end. It seems like Drew McIntyre has recently extended this even on social media.
During a New York Knicks game in the NBA, two members of the audience seem to be having a fight. One of the members in the fight seems to have a resemblance to Sami Zayn. McIntyre was quick to post it on social media, saying that Zayn has been losing even in crowd brawls.
This seems to be a clear jab at his rival about the fact that he has never defeated him. This gives Drew the bragging rights on multiple levels against Sami Zayn. Wrestlers are known to be very different in character than what they are portrayed as on TV. Drew, who is shown as a very serious character, seems to be a very funny person outside the ring.
