Ricochet, who recently departed from WWE has joined AEW. He is known across the world for his high-flying ability inside the ring. The career that he had in WWE helped him elevate himself as a wrestler. However, things did not seem to go the way they were supposed to. The former United States Champion left the company in July 2024.
Ever since then, Ricochet has appeared on multiple podcasts talking about his aspirations. He recently appeared on Undisputed with Jason Barraso, where he made it clear that he wanted to be the top guy. He made claims that he was going to prove that he could carry a company.

While some fans admired his aspiration, others made a mockery out of it. A fan recently posted in response to his comments, saying, “Can’t even Carry Samantha.”
This led to the fiancé of the wrestler replying to the tweet with a picture of Ricochet carrying Ivar during a match on Raw to defend Ricochet. It seems like the former WWE ring announcer has taken the comment funnily and savagely responded to the fan. Wrestlers have been known for being open and fun on their social media platforms. This seems to be one of those instances as well. To make it further interesting, WWE wrestler Ivar also commented, “Maybe I’m offended.”
Ricochet looks to win his first title in AEW
This Saturday at AEW Full Gear, there are going to be multiple championships defended. One of which is going to be the AEW International Championship. Challenger Ricochet, who is currently fresh on the scene at AEW, will take on Champion Konosuke Takeshita.
Both of these men have been feuding since October. Ricochet had earlier had the opportunity to capture the title, but it did not go his way. Since then, Ricochet has been behind the champion for a long period of time and seems to really want to get his hands on the championship gold.
Since his arrival in AEW, Ricochet has not lost a single match. Meanwhile, Takeshita will be defending his championship for the third time. Both of these men are known for their amazing in-ring ability and will be ready to face each other.
With Ricochet chasing his aspirations to become a world champion, this match will definitely be very important to him. A victory here could help him rise to the ranks of AEW and be a threat to everybody else on the roster. Meanwhile, this title defense is equally important for Takeshita, as it will help him cement himself as a strong champion.
