Rey Mysterio, who is one of the biggest names in the wrestling industry, recently expressed his feelings outside the ring. Rey said that he does not know if he will ever reunite with his son, Dominik Mysterio. It was about 2 years ago at WWE Clash of the Castle when Dominik betrayed his father. Since that incident, father and son have found each other on opposite sides of the wrestling ring on multiple occasions.
Dominik, however, has still not been able to score a singles victory over his father. In a conversation with Cheap Heat with Peter Rosenberg, Rey spoke about the possibility of reuniting with his son in the future. Despite the father being hopeful, the reunion between him and his son does not seem very likely. But he did mention that he is hopeful of it one day.
The WWE Hall of Famer, despite the separation, seems to be very proud of what his son is doing in the wrestling industry. Being a legend and achieving almost everything as a wrestler, he would definitely hope that he could get more time with his son as a father in the ring. The only difference is that he would want both of them to be in the same corner.
Dominik, at the moment, does not seem to care about his parents or even what Mysterio has to say. He is off in WWE doing his own thing.
Rey Mysterio dreams of a special moment
During the same interview, Rey also added that he would like to fulfill one of his dreams. Rey would love one more title run as Tag Team Champions with his son. The pair became the first father-son duo to hold the WWE Tag Team Championship gold. This happened back in 2021 when they won the SmackDown Tag Titles.
The Championship reign lasted only for about 63 days before they dropped the titles. Dominik would shortly go on to betray his father and even attack his uncle Edge after a match against The Judgment Day. After the attack, he became a part of Judgment Day himself.
Rey Mysterio’s career is currently in its last years. He has been wrestling for over 20 years, and it seems like fans might see a goodbye from him in the coming years. One last run with his son by his side would definitely make his career even more memorable personally for him.
