The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship scene has been in a tough spot for a while. After recent happenings, things have only gotten worse in the division at this point in time. During an episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Jade Cargill, who was one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, recently got injured.
Due to the unfortunate injury, Jade Cargill will also miss out on the WarGames match at Survivor Series. WWE is forced to take a major step to address the issue. Therefore, WWE is rumored to strip Jade Cargill and her partner Bianca Blair of the tag titles soon. Wrestle Ops recently confirmed the rumors in their latest report on their X account.
According to multiple reports, WWE gave Jade a storyline on-screen injury to cover up for the real injuries that she was suffering from. This was a smart move by WWE to provide her a break from wrestling to recover and come back later.
As per WWE rules, if a certain superstar is injured for a long period of time and if they are unable to defend the title, they will be stripped of their championship. Since The Storm’s injuries are in real life and not just a storyline, WWE is expected to strip Jade and her teammate Bianca Blair of the titles very soon.
Backstage update on Jade’s Injury
Jade’s return to the ring is not expected to be anytime soon. She was laid out backstage during the 22 November 2024 episode of SmackDown. This was done to give her time to recover from her injuries, which she is suffering from in real life.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer provided an update on her injury. He revealed the duration for which Cargill is expected to be away from the ring.
Despite knowing the duration, it seems that the identity of the injury has been kept unknown. With Cargill out of action, her spot was taken by Bayley at Survivor Series. WWE has had to adjust to multiple changes in its planning due to this. It will be interesting to see what the future holds in regard to her return to the ring.
