WWE Crown Jewel 2024 witnessed a historic movement as Liv Morgan and Nia Jax went head-to-head for the inaugural Women’s Crown Jewel Championship in Riyadh. Both competitors were evenly matched going into this matchup. Therefore it was not very easy to pick a clear favorite before the match.
Morgan did not hold back against Nia as soon as the match started. Morgan was dominating the starting half of the match. Despite the match being booked as an underdog versus monster, both women currently play heelish roles on the respective brands. Hence, the crowd was not in favor of either one of the two.
However, the 30-year-old star’s amazing moves at the beginning of the match only got the crowd behind her. Nia Jax tried to bring in some fight of her own but was successful on very rare occasions.
However, there was a different twist altogether. Tiffany Stratton came running down with her Money in the Bank briefcase to try and cash in on Nia Jax. She was even seen being told by Jax that this wasn’t the correct time to do so. Tiffany was asked to leave, and even Raquel Rodriguez got involved in the chaos at ringside.
Since both of these women were fighting with each other, this allowed Nia Jax to take out both women and even her opponent, who was at ringside. Meanwhile, Dominik Mysterio also slid the Money in the Bank briefcase again.
However, before the referee could remove it, Rodriguez interfered from outside, shoving Nia Jax off the top rope. This allowed Morgan to hit her finisher and pin Nia Jax. Thus, Liv Morgan became the first-ever Women’s Crown Jewel Champion and received a title made up of 50 carats of diamonds.
Did WWE plant seeds for Liv Morgan’s face turn hint?
Despite Morgan entering today’s match as a heel, the type of reception that she received was of a babyface. It might be that WWE is testing some kind of experiment to see if it would be correct to turn her into a baby face in the near future.
WWE Universe wasn’t behind Nia Jax as a reigning World Champion, since they were so excited and hopeful about the cash in which they could have gone against her.
It will be very interesting to see how the storylines develop on the upcoming episodes of Smackdown and Raw, respectively.
