Kai Cenat finally breaks silence on controversial $60M Kick deal to leave Twitch

Kai Cenat is one of the most celebrated and popular streamers on Twitch. His popularity on the purple platform has been rocketing since 2022, becoming one of the most subscribed streamers of all time on Twitch.

That’s not all; he has even broken multiple records with his entertaining live streams, major collaborations with actors such as Kevin Hart, and gaming marathons like his Elden Ring play-through.

Naturally, the fan base of one of its kind and every other streaming platform has been trying its best to bring Cenat onto its platform, thus also bringing the large influx of people that follow it.

One such platform was none other than Kick, the popular streaming platform that grabbed a lot of attention as they signed some of the biggest names in the streaming industry, including xQc and Amouranth.

In 2024, there were reports that Kick wanted to sign both IShowSpeed as well as Kai Cenat on their platform to live stream exclusively. But the duo ended up turning it down despite being offered a lucrative deal. According to Kai, the offer was worth a whopping $60M, and while there have been no talks about it in the past, Kai Cenat has finally opened up about it.

In an interview with Billboard, Kai Cenat revealed why he rejected the whopping $60M offer from Kick. That’s not all; he even compared himself to basketball legend Steph Curry and how it doesn’t make any sense for him to start playing a completely different sport and ditch the one that made him a star.

Cenat said, “Say, for example, you go to Steph Curry and you’re like, ‘Hey, man, we want you to be a running back [in] the NFL. You’re so good at basketball, but we want you to just leave everything behind right now and go to NFL football and be a running back.”

That’s not all; he further explained how he has always been with Twitch and built a community on that platform, which has now turned into his home.

Cenat concluded, “It doesn’t make sense! I’ve been on Twitch. I’ve built a core community. Kick is not my home. My home is definitely Twitch. If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it. That’s what I live by.”

Kai Cenat seemed quite sure about his decision and has continued growing on the purple platform.
