IShowSpeed is one of the most popular content creators out there, with a massive following all around the world. And the Royal Rumble is one of the most popular events of all time for all the WWE fans. So, what’s better than these two collaborating for a backstage livestream? That was a theoretical question; it’s nothing actually.
During IShowSpeed’s YouTube stream in Uruguay, Speed received a FaceTime call from former WWE wrestler and current WWE Chief Content Officer, Triple H, who in turn invited him to the Royal Rumble.
Triple H said, “I wanted to give you a call. I wanted to see if you want to come out to the Rumble next week.”
To which IShowSpeed instantly asked, “Can I stream?“
Triple H very graciously said yes and even suggested Speed to talk to other superstars backstage. He responded, “Oh yeah, you can stream. Look, you can have access backstage; you can come talk to all the superstars…hell, I’ll even let you come to Gorilla position and sit with me, and you can stream up there if you want.”
However, that backstage access didn’t hold Speed from asking the ultimate question, and that was whether he could stream John Cena. To which Triple H replied, “If you can see him, you can stream him.”
Well, that was the only confirmation Speed needed to confirm his presence during the February 1st Royal Rumble. The streamer exclaimed, “Oh my God, Triple H! Imma be there!.”
Now, for those unaware, the Gorilla position is the backstage area where the show is directed. It is staged just behind the curtain where wrestlers come out to the ring. It is more so like all the theater acts in which the backstage is not what is accessible to the public, but the actual chaos is out there somewhere.
With that being said, WWE has almost never shown what goes on behind that closed curtain, but not anymore. Would something be exciting for all the WWE fans that Speed can capture during his livestream? Well, only time will tell.
