After successfully securing Trent Arnold‘s deal, Real Madrid is looking forward to signing another Liverpool star as a free agent.
According to reports, Los Blancos is interested in bringing another Liverpool star to Santiago Bernabeu for the next season. After a performance degrade this season, the Whites are looking forward to strengthening their squad for the next season.
Real Madrid, after the departure of Karim Benzema, had shown an interest in signing the star player of Liverpool, Mohamed Salah, on an interim basis. Not just Mohamed Salah, but as per a few reports, Madrid had an interest in signing more players from Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
And currently, the Whites are again trying to secure a deal for a Liverpool player who is at the end of his contract.
However, the player for whom Real Madrid is willing to sign is none other than defender Ibrahima Konate in 2026. With that being said, it seems like the LaLiga giants are on the lookout for a defensive replacement, thus making him the appropriate target for an unexpected move.
Real Madrid’s Strategy: Star Power Without Transfer Costs
Real Madrid has come to rely more and more on free transfer signings in recent years, such as big-name players David Alaba and Antonio Rüdiger.
The signings have worked on the pitch and in the bank, enabling the club to sustain a high level of performance without forking out big money on transfer costs.
Now, with a Liverpool contract expiring, Madrid can see the chance to reinforce their side with Premier League experience and elite-level quality without the cost of a transfer fee.
This move adds another layer of complexity to Liverpool’s planning as it looks ahead to the 2025–26 season. Manager Arne Slot, who will replace Jürgen Klopp, will need to keep top players from leaving if he is to achieve a seamless transfer.
If Real Madrid makes the signing, it would be the end of another big Liverpool stint and a new challenge for the player at another of Europe’s elite clubs.
