From almost breaking Gunnies’ World Record to viral adventures, IShowSpeed is known for his entertaining live streams. The creator has traveled the world and began his latest live stream tour from New Zealand and Australia.
The viral tour that has been making all the right noises has all the fun elements that a viewer typically wants—a near-death experience, food exploration, some funny yet humiliating experiences, and a lot more.
However, the internet sensation has found himself in hot water after allegedly violating New Zealand’s visa laws. According to reports, Speed is under investigation for streaming in New Zealand without a work visa, which is illegal in New Zealand as per their tourism policy.
However, at the time of writing, his team has denied any such breach. If found in violation, he could face deportation liability notice and fines.
That’s not all; as per New Zealand policy, the country holds the freedom to decide whether the officials want to continue with the investigation or if they want the accused to serve the deportation liability notice and further fines.
As per 1News, IShowSpeed had visited New Zealand with a visitor visa, and monetizing a live stream or making content that can be monetized is in violation of these visa laws. Immigration New Zealand general manager Risk and Border Richard Owen Said, “Immigration New Zealand general manager risk and border Richard Owen.“
Immigration adviser Ankur Sabharwal also chimed in, explaining how Speed would need to apply for a worker visa the next time he wants to visit the country. He said, “If they feel that he’s breaching his visa conditions by working in this country while he holds a visitor visa, which doesn’t allow work, then they could simply serve him a deportation liability notice.”
Continuing further, he added, “When someone’s breaching their visa conditions, INZ has the choice to decide whether they want to investigate it further, or [if] they just simply want to serve them a deportation liability notice.”
That said, IShowSpeed is almost done with his New Zealand tour and has already announced his next destination: Africa, which the content creator will visit in 2025.
