IShowSpeed finally broke his silence, addressing the rumors of a $100M Kick offer. For the uninitiated, during the December 13 livestream alongside Youshaei, a former YouTube employee, Speed discussed his career as a streamer and from where he started everything from scratch to now becoming the Streamer of the Year.
Naturally, as he was discussing his streaming journey, the topic of Kick’s $100M offer entered the discussion, to which IShowSpeed finally provided some clarity. Kick is a fairly new platform, given that Twitch and YouTube have been streaming for a while now.
And that’s precisely why Kick offered a jaw-dropping amount of money to Twitch’s biggest creators to bring them and, of course, their audience to their platform, including xQc and Adin Ross.
However, as per many beliefs and rumors, Kick also tried their hand at IShowSpeed, but the deal couldn’t get finalized. Speed clarified that the two parties did have brief “conversations” but that the contract talk ultimately “didn’t get anywhere.”
IShowSpeed said, “Has Kick offered me $100 million? Yeah, me and Kick, we did talk back in 2023, I think. Yeah, we did have conversations, but the deal didn’t get anywhere, to be honest.“
That’s not all; when asked about his opinion on the massive amount of money streamers get from these platforms, Speed replied, “I mean, like, it’s 2024, and streaming is the s*it. You know this is a new era, and streaming is on top of that, and I am glad to be part of that. Streaming is really taking over a lot of companies and businesses. So, to be a part of that right now and be one of the tops, to be the tops, it feels amazing.“
IShowSpeed became the Streamer of the Year
On December 7, Speed took home the Streamer of the Year Award, just one of three victories he earned that evening. Speed also won Best International Streamer and the Get Off Your A** Award, which recognized the best IRL streamers.
Contrary to his over-the-top videos and wild reaction, IShowSpeed’s heartwarming winning speech won many hearts. He said, “This award means a lot to me. I really fell in love with this game of streaming. Streaming really allowed me to express myself in so many ways and show who I am. The passion I have for streaming and the love that I have for streaming… I’m not going to stop. This award? There’s more to come.”
With that being said, there is no denying that Speed has certainly cemented himself as the most loved, viral, and popular streamer of today’s generation. With a massive following, the Streamer of the Year continues to get his subscriber count to a new height every day with his livestreams.
