The most magical time of the year is finally here, and prominent celebrities, sports personalities, models, actresses, and influencers are busy spending quality time with their loved ones. Well, that is what the holiday seasons are for.
This year, Dec. 25 marks an extra special occasion as it is the rare event when Christmas Day aligns with the start of Hanukkah.
Since the two extremely special occasions don’t fall on the same day most often, this year it will be memorable for everyone who celebrates both Christmas and Hanukkah.
However, not everyone is a fan of the festivities. From Lady Gaga to Miley Cyrus, here is the list of celebrities who don’t follow the traditional culture of celebrating Christmas.
Celebrities who are not a big fan of the festivities
Miley Cyrus
The Grammy Award winner, Miley Cyrus, reportedly doesn’t celebrate the festivities in the traditional garland ways.
Back in 2019, Cyrus shared this on her official Instagram handle: “If you feel lonely this season, just know YOU ARE COMPLETELY MADE OF MAGIC! You are as special as a snowflake, beautifully unique and I hope inside your soul feels light, hope, peace, and joy knowing how singularly amazing YOU are! Love always wins!”
She shared on a reality TV show a year later, “I want to do, like, goth Christmas. I think instead of a garland, do, like, rosaries, like, upside-down studded crosses.”
Larry David
The American comedian and producer doesn’t seem to be a big fan of the holidays, either. While talking about the festivities, Larry revealed how he detests all holidays as they come with ridiculous, treacly sentiments.
That’s not all; he further showed his disapproval of the attendant pile of garbage that accumulates.
In a 2021 interaction with Air Mail, Larry shared, “I detest all holidays, but none as much as Christmas. There’s the loathsome music. The movies with their ridiculous, treacly sentiments. The presents—thinking about them, shopping for them (never without resentment), and the attendant pile of garbage that accumulates from opening them, an environmental disaster simultaneously taking place in living rooms across the country.”
Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga has openly accepted her annoyance with the holiday season, as it is the time for people to be together with their near and dear ones. “I hate the holidays. I’m alone and miserable, you f–king stuffed little toy,” Gaga shared in a 2010 concert.
However, that would be over 14 years ago. Now, the pop star seems to be in love with Christmas as much as everyone else.
Jennifer Aniston
Jennifer Aniston, known as Rachel from FRIENDS, hated celebrating Christmas when she was a child.
With that being said, unlike her FRIENDS character, who was the most excited person for Christmas and celebrated each festivity with her friends, Aniston seems to be a bit distant from it.
In 2016 she shared, “My dad’s whole side of the family is Greek, so I would dress up as a little Greek girl, and then on Christmas, after taking belly-dancing classes, I would do that. It had nothing to do with Christmas, even. It was just, ‘Let’s humiliate Jen on Christmas.“
With that being said, these are the few celebrities who don’t celebrate the holidays as they have their reasons.
