Breaking: Carlo Ancelotti to Become Brazil Head Coach for World Cup 2026

There has finally been a verbal agreement between Carlo Ancelotti and the Brazilian Football Confederation.

As per the reports, the Italian manager has verbally agreed to the offer to become Brazil’s national football team manager for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Carlo will join the national team from June 2025, clearing all the rumors that the Italian manager will take on Brazil’s managerial job after the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Carlo, who is the current manager of Real Madrid, will soon leave his managerial position with the Los Blancos at the end of this season. However, no official confirmation has been given by any of the two parties yet.

The sources closer to the President of the club and Carlo Ancelotti have confirmed that formal steps regarding the manager’s departure will be taken in the upcoming weeks. The departure of Ancelotti will be smooth due to his past achievements and mutual respect between both parties.

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) wanted to sign Carlo Ancelotti as their new manager last season. Brazil’s performance in the Copa America and the current World Cup Qualifiers has been somewhat below par.

Though having a strong team with the presence and availability of players such as Vini Jr, Raphina, Rodrygo, and Lucas Paqueta, the team has struggled in recent international matches. By signing Carlo as the team’s new manager, hopes to see a boost in the team’s performance.

Strategic Timing Ahead of World Cup Preparations

Ancelotti has won the evolutions that he could win as a club manager with Real Madrid. The Italian manager has helped the Whites win their 15th UCL title and 36th League title. And the higher authorities of CBF believe in experience in modern football to help maintain Brazil’s reputation in the football world.

With the agreement beginning in June, Ancelotti will have ample time to assess Brazil’s squad and implement his philosophy ahead of the World Cup qualifiers and the tournament itself, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
