Iyo Sky Sends a Message Ahead of Her Women’s World Title Match Against Rhea Ripley at Evolution

WWE will finally host an all-women Evolution PLE in a few days, and Iyo Sky looks completely ready. She is set to defend her Women’s World Title against Rhea Ripley in the main event. The PLE will take place eight years after the original event’s inception. Ahead of their match and the show, The Genius of the Sky sent a message on social media.

Sky took to X and admitted she was both excited and nervous for the big occasion. The Women’s World Champion shared that she came all the way from Japan to the USA for one reason—to make history. Sky reflected on how, during the inaugural Evolution PLE, she faced Toni Storm in the Mae Young Classic Final. Now, years later, she’s entering the event as a world champion.

The former Damage CTRL member said she was excited to create history once again. Fans have not been satisfied with Sky’s title reign. After defending her title at WrestleMania 41 against Ripley and Bianca Belair, she hasn’t had much momentum. She has had zero title defenses since WrestleMania and hasn’t wrestled since May 12th.

“I’m nervous. I’m excited. But more than anything… I’m READY! I came from Japan to the USA for one reason — to make WWE HISTORY . At the first Evolution, I fought in the Mae Young Classic Final. Now… at the second Evolution, I walk in as the WWE Women’s CHAMPION This Sunday, we do it again. NEW HISTORY.. BIGGER MOMENTS… LETS GOOOO!!!”

Talking about Mami’s journey, she recently had a classic match against Raquel Rodriguez. Despite taking heavy punishment from her former friend, The Eradicator emerged victorious. She delivered a super Riptide from the top of the table positioned in the corner. On the very next episode of Raw, Ripley announced her intent to win the world title from Iyo Sky, and the latter accepted. For those unaware, Mami has never defeated the Japanese wrestler in one-on-one action.

Rhea Ripley Also Shared Her Thoughts Ahead of the Second-Ever Evolution PLE

The world title match at Evolution PLE will be an important one for Rhea Ripley. A winless record against her biggest opponent yet has sparked a new wave of motivation in her. She shared her excitement about main-eventing an all-women PLE with a strong message on social media.

Ripley took to X and stated that her evolution had always been about learning and growing. She spoke on behalf of all women, saying this was their chance to prove they deserved much more. Not only that, she claimed that women around the world deserved more in every other industry as well.

“EVOLUTION. Forever learning. Forever growing. Forever evolving. Women always have something to prove, and evolution is where we prove that we deserve so much more in this and EVERY business.”
