The SmackDown tag team division has been thriving for the past few months. Fans have given most of the credit to DIY and the Motor City Machine Guns for putting in the hard work week in and week out. Their rivalry continued on SmackDown when Chris Sabin and Tommaso Ciampa faced off in singles action.
Both wrestlers had their tag team partners at the ringside. Despite being widely known as tag team specialists, Sabin and Ciampa knocked it out of the park, countering move after move. In the final moments of the match, as one half of the MCMG was getting ready for a top-rope move, Ciampa appeared to be in deep pain as the referee attended to him.
Unfortunately for Sabin, it was all part of a plan, as Candice LeRae made her surprising return and attacked him. That was enough for The Blackheart to finish the match. This was her first appearance since the Elimination Chamber PLE earlier this year. The Poison Pixie reunited with her husband, Johnny Gargano, and Ciampa, reforming the heel group that once wreaked havoc in NXT.
Before her return, she had become a helping hand to Nia Jax. They also teamed up to face Tiffany Stratton and Trish Stratus in a tag team match back in March, which they lost. LeRae recently defended her Speed Title against Sol Ruca on Speed’s 67th taping. The young, talented wrestler from NXT dethroned The Poison Pixie and became the new Women’s Speed Champion.
Johnny Gargano promised change was on the way after reuniting with his wife Candice LeRae
It looks like Gargano couldn’t contain his happiness, with his wife by his side. Their paths have almost never crossed since their main roster debuts. After the Poison Pixie helped DIY’s Ciampa get a win over Sabin, Gargano sent a message on social media.
The former WWE NXT Champion took to social media and spoke about being right in his prediction. He posted a picture of himself with LeRae and The Blackheart and stated that change was on the way. Hardcore wrestling fans caught a hint he dropped about a faction he led long ago in NXT.
Gargano and his wife, LeRae, led the faction called ‘The Way’ in NXT. The villainous group included Indi Hartwell, Austin Theory, and Dexter Lumis as well. However, with Hartwell’s release from the company and Lumis being part of the Wyatt Sicks, only Theory remains, and he has been involved in an interesting angle with his longtime tag team partner, Grayson Waller. Many fans predict that he will join Gargano and company soon.
