At the Money in the Bank PLE, Logan Paul teamed up with John Cena. The unlikely duo faced former Tag Team Champions Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes in the main event. Towards the match’s end, Paul took out Main Event Jey with an incredible Lionsault. He used the middle rope to launch himself onto The Yeet Master on the announcer’s table. The high-impact move left Uso sprawled at the ringside.
Speaking on his Impaulsive podcast, Paul revealed his inspiration for the move. He was motivated after hitting a regular Lionsault on AJ Styles at WrestleMania 41. Paul wanted to try the dangerous move outside the ring, onto the table. The Maverick also claimed he executed the move consistently during practice.
Paul remembered discussing it with Cena before their match. He recalled that The Franchise Player was skeptical about him performing the move. The 30-year-old star said that nobody believed he could pull off the Lionsault at that point. Paul added that he could turn off his fear switch completely. He was unsure whether he had broken both shins after the landing.
“It’s before the match and I’m telling John Cena, I was like ‘Hey, I’d like to fit this spot in there, right? He looks at me and goes ‘You can’t make that jump.’ I found out no one believed I could make that jump… It was well executed and I’m f**king alive. When I landed, straight up, I was not sure if I broke both my f**king shins.”

Talking about the match itself, it looked like the heels had the advantage. However, the tables turned when Ron Killings made his return. He stopped Cena from hitting Rhodes with the WWE Title. The American Nightmare took advantage of the situation and secured the victory. He hit a Cross Rhodes to give him and Uso the win. This marked Cena’s first loss since his heel turn.
