After opposing travel to Saudi Arabia for years, CM Punk has finally clarified his stance on the Gulf countries

Since CM Punk returned to WWE, he has been one of the biggest stars in the company. Fans have always been excited to hear his opinions on social media. After refusing to travel to Saudi Arabia, The Best in the World has given an indirect hint about traveling to the Gulf country.

Punk took to Instagram and answered some fan questions live. When a fan asked if he hated Saudi Arabia, The Second City Saint answered that he hadn’t traveled to Saudi Arabia yet but wouldn’t mind going there. Interestingly, not only he, but superstars like John Cena, Kevin Owens, and Daniel Bryan also refused to go to Gulf countries due to personal reasons.

However, the 17-time World Champion did appear at a Saudi event during the Greatest Royal Rumble. Owens also wrestled there in 2023. Recently, at the Backlash PLE, Punk was surprisingly advertised for the Night of Champions event in Saudi Arabia. Fans could expect a match between him and Sami Zayn if the latter decides to turn heel during the tag team match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

“I’ve never been to Saudi, I don’t hate coming to Saudi.”

CM Punk on Instagram Live

After losing in his very first WrestleMania main event, Punk appeared angry on the latest episode of Raw. He demanded answers from Paul Heyman but was attacked by Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker instead. It will be interesting to see whether Punk finally manages to take revenge for the betrayal by winning at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

CM Punk expresses his desire to have a match with AJ Styles

There is no denying the fact that Punk is in the final phase of his controversial career. He still has some dream opponents he would like to wrestle before he finally hangs up his wrestling boots. One of those superstars is AJ Styles, who has also said that he would like to retire before he turns 50.

Among the questions asked by fans during his Instagram Live, one was which wrestler he would love to face. Punk expressed his desire to wrestle The Phenomenal One before he retires. While Styles is 48 years old right now, The Second City Saint is only a year younger than him.

Styles himself admitted in an interview with Chris Van Vliet that he wants to wrestle Punk before they both retire. The former WWE Champion lost to Logan Paul in a singles match at WrestleMania 41. He recently confronted the current Intercontinental Champion, Dominik Mysterio, backstage. Fans would be excited to see the veteran win another championship.
