9-Time WWE Champion Unsure of Comeback After Career-Threatening Injury

Wrestling fans all over the world are concerned about Kevin Owens’ health. The former WWE Universal Champion revealed that he had been suffering from a neck injury for quite some time ahead of his match against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41. A few weeks ago, Owens stated that he had yet to treat his injured neck and was going to take his time. Now, the Prizefighter has come up with another update.

During an interview with Le10Sport, Owens revealed that the symptoms developed following his match against Rey Mysterio on the January 17th episode of SmackDown. Unfortunately, as of today, he knows his future is written in dotted lines, as he admitted that he doesn’t know whether a return is even possible or not.

The former Universal Champion stated that he had doubts for months that something was abnormal. Owens said that they only found out how serious his injury was two days before he finally announced it on SmackDown. Unfortunately, he had to stop wrestling immediately and is now out of action. He considered himself really lucky not to have gotten more seriously injured during the Royal Rumble and the Elimination Chamber.

I had doubts for several months that there was something really abnormal. However, it took several months to diagnose the injury itself. It would be, not arrogant, but false to be able to tell you right now that I will absolutely return to the ring, that I will have more fights. I don’t know if that’s true.”

Speaking about the aftermath of his injury announcement, Orton had to look for a new opponent at the Show of Shows. Then, TNA World Champion Joe Hendry answered his open challenge and put on a good show for the fans. The Viper won the match with an RKO and celebrated in Hendry’s style after his win at WrestleMania.

The Young Bucks’ Matt Jackson Vacationed With Kevin Owens Thanks To A Random Run-In

In between his time as an AEW EVP and in-ring performer, The Young Bucks’ Matt Jackson is a frequent traveler, with his latest vacation taking place in Oʻahu, Hawaii. He revealed that he met The Prizefighter during his trip there. For those who don’t know, both stars have wrestled together in ROH.

While addressing fan questions during a live stream on YouTube, along with his wife and son, Jackson brought up his trip to Hawaii last year. Mr. Instant Replay recalled meeting his old friend, Owens. After their surprise encounter, Jackson noted that he and the former Universal Champion’s families spent the remainder of their respective vacations together, swimming and all.

“So we’re sitting there on the beach, and I look out into the water and there’s another dad playing with his daughter. He looks very familiar. In fact, I go, ‘Oh, my gosh, Is that Kevin? Oh my God, it’s Kevin Steen.’ Kevin Owens, as you may know. It was so cool because literally the rest of the vacation, we kind of had our vacation together. We’d go swimming for hours. It was really, really cool. It was last March.”
