Kevin Owens provides major update on his injury that cost him WrestleMania match

Kevin Owens has achieved a lot in his 10-year-long main roster career. He was scheduled to have another WrestleMania classic with Randy Orton. However, the plans were canceled when The Prizefighter suffered a horrific neck injury. Now, he has provided an update regarding the surgery on his damaged neck.

More than a month has passed since that grim admission, yet KO has still not undergone surgery to address it. Owens revealed on X that he is still figuring out the best way to move forward with the kind of neck issue that has been holding him back. In addition, the Anti-Christ of Pro Wrestling acknowledged the tenth anniversary of his victory over John Cena on his Raw debut. Owens emphasized that it completely altered the course of his career.

The former Universal Champion expressed his sincere gratitude to the fans for their unwavering support. Finally, Owens presented a book by J.J. McGee about his and Sami Zayn‘s professional journeys. Fight Forever: The Ballad of Kevin and Sami is the title of the book. Owens gave McGee a lot of credit for his deep understanding of the specifics of what these athletes do inside the squared circle.

We don’t have a surgery date yet. I have not had surgery yet. Despite reports to the contrary. We’re still gonna try to figure out what the best way to go about it all is, exactly what needs to be done. So we’re kind of figuring that out still. So, there’s a lot of uncertainty but hopefully in the next few weeks, we get clarity and we do the surgery and then we go from there.”

Kevin Owens was present backstage at WrestleMania 41

The former Universal Champion couldn’t wrestle at the Show of Shows, but he was present to show support for his peers. Jey Uso made history at WrestleMania 41 by winning his first world championship against Gunther. He will be defending his title against Logan Paul at the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event.

WWE shared a video featuring backstage footage after The Yeet Master captured the world title. Owens appeared around the 12:40 mark and congratulated him on winning the World Heavyweight Title for the first time in his career. His original WrestleMania 41 opponent, Randy Orton, came out and issued an open challenge.

Fans were excited to see who would answer his open challenge, and they weren’t disappointed. TNA World Heavyweight Champion Joe Hendry came out and faced The Legend Killer. In a short but entertaining match, Orton emerged victorious thanks to his finisher, the RKO. However, the fun wasn’t over yet, as the 14-time world champion hit Hendry with another RKO, sending the fans home happy.
