“It’s going to feel like two p**ps”-Former NXT Champion rejects idea of joining Seth Rollins’ faction

Trick Williams is one of the most recognized names in the developmental brand NXT. He has won many championships on the Black & Gold brand, and in the eyes of many fans, he is ready to make a splash on the main roster. Recently, the former WWE NXT Champion was asked about joining the dangerous faction led by Seth Rollins. It’s safe to say that his response was quite interesting.

Speaking with Tim on Battleground, Williams was asked about potentially aligning with The Visionary’s new group on WWE Raw. Although he admitted that the alliance was dangerous, Williams also stated that having Rollins in the same room was too much of a distraction. He swiftly rejected the idea of the two being in the same faction and said that it was a good thing he and Rollins were on different brands.

The 31-year-old star has had an outstanding run in NXT. He won his very first NXT title against Ilja Dragunov last year at Spring Breakin’. However, he lost the title to Ethan Page in a Fatal 4-Way match, which also included Je’Von Evans and Shawn Spears, at NXT Heatwave. Unfortunately for Williams, he held the title for only 75 days.

That’s a dangerous faction right there, but I’ll be honest, it’s too much swag for Trick Williams and Seth Rollins to be in the same room at the same time at the same place. He wears his leather and heels just like I wear my leather and heels. It’s going to feel like two p**ps at it. I don’t know if that’s what WWE needs or wants. Might need to keep up on different shows, spread the swag around,”

After coming out as the victor in a high-profile feud with his former friend, Carmelo Hayes, it was time to go for the title again. He turned heel by attacking Joe Hendry and challenging him for the TNA World Championship. Not only that, he went on to win the title at NXT Battleground. Meanwhile, Rollins is ruling the Raw roster along with his entourage after a huge win at WrestleMania 41.

ECW legend Tommy Dreamer highlights backstage shock in TNA after Trick Williams’ world title win

Trick Williams winning the TNA World Title after defeating Hendry at the NXT Battleground event was a shock to many. Not only the fans, but also TNA President Carlos Silva, who was at the ringside during the event, was visibly surprised by the decision. Tommy Dreamer recently revealed that Williams’ victory created a wave of uncertainty behind the scenes in TNA.

On the Busted Open Radio podcast, the 31-year-old star directly asked the ECW legend about the amount of heat he received. Dreamer stated that he received a lot of text messages from the moment he won the title. He claimed that the employees were confused about the situation and asked him what they should do now. Unfortunately, Dreamer had no answer except to say he didn’t know.

“I have received the most amount of texts from the moment you won… I watched your match with a lot of employees and people who work there… and everyone turned to me and they were like, it was almost like, ‘What are we going to do now?’ And I was like, ‘I don’t know.'”

Dreamer also pointed out that much of the backstage tension stemmed from cross-promotional partnerships. In his opinion, these kinds of deals always fall apart eventually. He was concerned about the possibility of that happening and the company being left without a champion. It will be interesting to see how long Williams holds the TNA World Title.
