Dominik Mysterio Attacks AJ Styles on Raw and Makes the Match Official for SummerSlam

Dominik Mysterio last wrestled on the June 9 edition of Raw. His next match is now official. He will defend his Intercontinental Championship against AJ Styles at SummerSlam. This match has been in the making for months. They were first set to clash at Night of Champions in Riyadh on June 28. However, Dirty Dom withdrew from the title defense due to a medical issue.

Later, officials revealed that Mysterio had sustained a partial rib injury. The injury prevented any in-ring activity for the 28-year-old. On this week’s Raw, Styles chased Dom all around the arena. At first, The Phenomenal One appeared as Mysterio’s valet. The reigning IC Champion looked shocked and kept yelling that doctors hadn’t cleared him yet.

Mysterio later ran into Styles backstage, who was disguised as a janitor. The former WWE Champion attended to Mysterio, who was already down from an accidental big boot by Raquel Rodriguez at ringside. Medical help took some time to arrive for Rey Mysterio’s son. Styles, dressed as a WWE medic, reached Mysterio and jokingly gave him CPR. The San Diego native then ran away in fear.

The Georgia Pitbull stood beside Raw GM Adam Pearce, waiting for medical clearance on Mysterio. The doctor said he needed more time to complete the paperwork. Suddenly, Liv Morgan’s boyfriend attacked Styles from behind. Mysterio then declared he was finally cleared and would face Mr. TNA at SummerSlam.
