Becky Lynch played major role behind Bayley’s shocking snub from WrestleMania 41 match: Reports

Becky Lynch planned for her and Lyra Valkyria’s WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship reign to last just one day. Before WrestleMania 41, fans wondered if Lynch would return soon. Many thought she would stay away longer. However, the return rumors turned out to be true.

On WrestleMania 41’s second night, Lynch surprised everyone as Valkyria’s mystery partner. They faced champions Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. The Irish duo won, becoming the new tag team champions. But their victory didn’t last.

The next night on Raw, Lynch and Valkyria lost the titles back to Morgan and Rodriguez. Fans were confused by the quick title change. Why did they win just to lose immediately? WWE insider Bryan Alvarez revealed Lynch was behind the idea.

“This whole thing was Becky’s idea. I heard about it in advance. Becky wants to come back, she wants to win the title, then turn on Lyra the next night.”

Bryan Alvarez on Becky Lynch replacing Bayley

Alvarez said Lynch wanted to win the titles and then betray Valkyria. Lynch had been away since May 2024 after losing to Morgan. She stayed under contract and worked on acting. When Bayley got hurt, Lynch returned to the team with Valkyria—but only to set up a future feud.

Bayley feels she is still not on the level of Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch

As WrestleMania approached, many expected Bayley to face Roxanne Perez. However, WWE dropped the feud and paired Bayley with Lyra Valkyria instead.

Later, a storyline injury removed Bayley from a match against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. Becky Lynch replaced her in a surprise return during WrestleMania Sunday.

Reports suggest WWE never planned to include Bayley on the card. Fans see this as unfair, given her accomplishments in the company. Before WrestleMania, Bayley spoke about feeling undervalued—not by WWE, but by the fans. She admitted agreeing with some criticisms about her status.
