“Absolutely no desire to win” Virender Sehwag doesn’t mince words on RCB’s out-of-form middle-order batter Liam Livingstone

In every IPL season, foreign players are closely watched. When they perform well, they can single-handedly turn the game in their team’s favor. But when they fail, they face criticism from fans and experts. Two such players are Glenn Maxwell and Liam Livingstone, about whom Indian legend Virender Sehwag recently made some shocking comments.

During Cricbuzz’s pre-match show, Sehwag shared his views on Livingstone’s exclusion from RCB before their match against PBKS. He mentioned that players like Livingstone and Maxwell seemed to lack motivation to play in the IPL. Sehwag remarked that they treated the IPL more like a holiday than a serious tournament, without much desire to win matches or make a significant impact for their teams.

Sehwag’s comments were quite strong, and while some fans agreed with him, others did not. He is known for his blunt opinions about other cricketers and has often been trolled for them. After RCB’s loss to PBKS, he said that the three-time runners-up were too dependent on their top three batters.

Talking about the performances of both players this IPL season, they haven’t been impressive. Livingstone has scored only 83 runs in his first six innings. Although he did play a crucial half-century against the Gujarat Titans, he was dropped for the match against PBKS. Similarly, Maxwell was also left out due to repeated failures. It will be interesting to see if both players can make a comeback in their respective teams.

Virender Sehwag slams Ravinder Jadeja’s batting approach in T20 cricket

Chennai Super Kings are almost out of the tournament after their defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad. Their batting and bowling struggles keep growing, and it’s hurting them this season. Sehwag also criticized the CSK team management.

While speaking on the Cricbuzz post-match show, Sehwag blamed CSK for lacking the intent to score more runs. He said Jadeja had a poor strike rate and should have stayed till the end to anchor the innings while the others played aggressive shots around him.

Sehwag was puzzled by Curran batting at No. 3. While Curran has batted higher in T20s, Sehwag felt CSK should have sent Dewald Brevis first. The former DC captain mentioned that the Super Kings were missing Ruturaj Gaikwad‘s expertise.
