Suryakumar Yadav recalls being nervous the night before his IPL debut for the Mumbai Indians

The Indian T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, is one of the world’s most renowned names in the cricketing world right now. However, his rise to the top was full of ups and downs. He recalled being nervous the night before his debut for the Mumbai Indians, ahead of their match against the now-defunct Pune Warriors India in 2012.

SKY stated that he barely slept the night before his debut and went to bed in the morning. He revealed that playing for the franchise brought a completely different kind of buzz. Yadav further added that he could not wait to step onto the field and have a warm-up. SKY said that as soon as he got on the pitch, he started sweating, and it felt good.

Unfortunately, he failed to make an impression in his debut match against PWI. While chasing a target of 130 runs, he got out for a duck, facing Marlon Samuels. As a result, MI lost the match by 28 runs. He made a name for himself by finishing matches for KKR and scoring heavily in the domestic circuit. Years later, he is currently the No. 4 batsman in T20I cricket.

SKY is the current Orange Cap holder in this season of the IPL. He has scored 475 runs with a strike rate of 173 and an average of 68. He also recently completed 4,000 runs in the IPL. MI has now won six matches in a row and is looking like one of the top contenders to lift the trophy. If SKY continues to perform like this, it will be hard for the other teams to stop them.

Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya are still critical despite Mumbai Indians’ huge win

Skipper Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav weren’t happy despite MI’s big win over RR. They were critical of themselves, as they felt they couldn’t capitalize as much as they wanted to after a good start by the openers. SKY also admitted that they would’ve liked to score 20–25 runs more.

Yadav said on the IPL’s official social media handle that the template was well set for them. He and Pandya decided that they would play normal cricket. The MI captain said that the players reaped rewards by playing grounded shots instead of attempting high-risk ones.

Despite being on top of the table after the win, both players reminded themselves to stay humble. SKY stated that the feeling of winning the match and being in the No. 1 position felt good, but they needed to stay humble, take one game at a time, and keep moving forward.
