Popular VTuber Ironmouse has announced her departure from talent agency VShojo in a surprising YouTube video posted on July 21. In the nearly 20-minute clip, she opened up about her reasons for leaving and revealed serious allegations involving missing funds meant for charity.
According to Ironmouse, the Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF) is still owed over $500,000 from a donation promised after her record-breaking subathon. The streamer explained that during the event, she had asked VShojo to handle the donations on her behalf.
For the uninitiated, they were responsible for managing her payments for security purposes. However, she claims that the funds were never transferred.
“The Immune Deficiency Foundation is owed over half a million dollars from VShojo,” she said. “As of right now, I am an independent VTuber.”
Ironmouse also shared that the agency owes her a “significant amount of funds”. While she didn’t go into full detail due to legal advice, she assured fans that she would eventually tell the entire story when the time is right.
“I know this is a lot, and it’s really important for me to be honest with you,” she said. “I really want to tell you everything, but unfortunately for now, I have been instructed by my attorney to wait for more of the legal procedure to unfold.”
The news has shocked the VTuber community, especially considering Ironmouse has long been one of VShojo’s most recognizable and beloved talents. Her subathon in early 2023 broke records and helped shine a spotlight on VTubing as a growing entertainment medium.
Despite the fallout, Ironmouse remained positive and passionate about the community. She emphasized that she still believes in the power of VTubing and its ability to do good.
“VTubing is a force for good,” she said, noting that she has plans to host a special charity livestream later this month to raise funds for the Immune Deficiency Foundation directly.
Fans have rallied behind her since the announcement, flooding her comments and social media with messages of support and encouragement.
At the time of writing, the agency has yet to publicly respond to Ironmouse’s claims.
