Hansi Flick Identifies Six Players Not in His Plans for Barcelona in Next Season: Reports

After helping the club win its 28th La Liga title, the newly appointed manager, Hansi Flick, as per some reports, has taken a very strong decision regarding Barcelona’s future.

According to some reports and media houses, Hansi Flick has already decided on six players from the first team who would not be in his 2025-2026 campaign.

Hansi Flick, renowned for his tactical brilliance, accurate squad rotations, and his success with the German National team and Bayern Munich, looks for a leaner and more dynamic squad for his next season at La Liga with Barcelona.

After lifting the league title only in his first season, Hansi Flick has decided the future of Barcelona. According to some reports, the German manager, after the victory, held a meeting with the higher authorities of the club, which included the sporting directors.

In the meeting, Flick informed his decision regarding certain players who were not fit to be in the squad for the next season due to their inconsistent performance.

Although Barcelona has not made any official announcements regarding these players yet. Some reputable German and Spanish media outlets have predicted the names of those six players who would not be part of Hansi Flick’s squad for the next season.

The six players identified by Hansi Flick

Those players’ names are given below.

Marcos Alonso – The Spanish full-back has not had enough game time this season and is also out of contract, with no news of contract renewal yet.

Sergio Roberto – The player has served the club for a very long time but does not fit a fast-paced squad for the next season.

Oriol Romeu – Signed as a player to fill the midfield gap last season. But the player has not had enough game time under Hansi Flick this season.

Clement Lenglet – After some loan transfers, the player has not yet convinced the higher authorities of the club of his performance.

Ansu Fati – Despite being a bright star at La Masia, Ansu Fati’s inconsistent performance and injury record have raised questions about his long-term stay at Barcelona.

Ferran Torres – With increasing competition in the attack and huge wage bills, the Spanish forward might be sacrificed to decrease the wage bills.

Barcelona’s precarious financial situation also plays a role in Flick’s decision-making. Offloading high earners and fringe players is essential for complying with LaLiga’s salary cap regulations and potentially freeing up funds for reinforcements.

Moreover, Flick is expected to prioritize high-intensity pressing, positional flexibility, and tactical discipline—traits not all current squad members possess.
